The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), a regional leader in banking and finance education and training, today announced that it will host three online Open House sessions for 2021, instead of its usual in-person Open Day.
Scheduled for the January 14, 21, and 28, 2021, the sessions will introduce prospective students to the myriad programs and diploma courses EIBFS is set to offer this year, in addition to providing them with a brief history of the Institute and related milestones. Furthermore, the EIBFs leadership team and representatives of leading UAE banks will share their professional experiences in the banking industry with the participants and highlight the evolving role of bankers in the region.
Speaking on the Open House this year, Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of EIBFS, said: “The EIBFS Open Day, which is one of our biggest annual fixtures will move online this year. Through our three community engagement sessions, we look forward to connecting with students who seek meaningful careers in the banking sector and showcase what we can offer them in terms of knowledge enhancement and upskilling.”
He added: “To ensure the continued significance of our course offering, our team at EIBFS has worked very hard to revise the curricula to integrate the evolving needs of the banking industry. We are confident that this approach will deepen the capabilities of the existing workforce while empowering new entrants with necessary skills as well.”
In 2020, EIBFS successfully trained 30,000 professionals working in the banking and financial sector. For this year, the Institute has charted out competency-based, hands on development roadmaps, added several specialized courses that will be critical in a post pandemic world, and increased the uptake of deep tech tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) and gamification as part of its varied learning modules.
In this context, EIBFS recently launched its 2021 Annual Training Program (ATP), which has been created through identifying 12 competency-based learning pathways. The 2021 edition features a library of 360 courses and a schedule of 1,168 programs covering functional skills and soft skills development courses in categories including fintech, data analytics, corporate banking and management, trade finance, compliance and anti-money laundering and risk management, as well as Islamic banking and business communication.
