Mansour bin Zayed attends EIBFS graduation ceremony

- 174 students of Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies graduate
Dubai-UAE: 22 March 2022– H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, today attended the graduation ceremony of the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies [EIBFS] at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. A total of 174 students of EIBFS graduated at the ceremony.
Sheikh Mansour congratulated the new batch of graduates and highlighted the role of the UAE banking and the financial sector in supporting and strengthening the country’s development and overall advancement.
He also reinforced the importance of preparing and educating the national cadres and increasing the number of Emiratis in the financial and banking sectors to play a vital role in shaping the industry’s future and called on the graduates to continue their education in this important sector.
The ceremony was attended by top government officials and EIBFS’s board of directors.
Hesham Abdullah Al Qassim, Chairman of EIBFS, said: ”The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies strives to play a proactive and leading role in the nationalization agenda of the UAE Government through its enhanced learning models that offer a holistic learning experience with the aim to deepen specialist skillsets to better serve the UAE’s growing banking ecosystem and reskill the current Emirati workforce and expand their career pathways.”
Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of EIBFS, praised the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the ceremony and expressed his pride in all graduates for their academic achievements and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Al Jassmi, said: “EIBFS was and is still efficiently contributing to the development of the country’s banking and financial sector through its bachelor’s and diploma programs that cater to the need to build a competent new generation of bankers in the UAE to meet the dynamic market demands guided by the vision of our wise leadership and the national vision of developing high-quality Emirati talent pool, who are ready for the future.”
He added: ”EIBFS is at the forefront of honing the skills and aptitude of professionals in the fast-growing banking and finance sector. We are pleased to train yet another batch of students with the qualifications and practical knowledge that can develop their talent further, and in turn strengthen the UAE’s progress as a global hub for banking and financial services.” During the ceremony, 154 graduates, including 80 Emiratis, received their bachelor’s and diploma degrees in the fields of banking and financing, accounting and Islamic banking. This
apart, 20 students were awarded certificates for completing the Leadership Development Program (LDP) organised in collaboration with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
At the graduation ceremony, Noura Al Balushi, Director of Training and Education at EIBFS, presented a brief explanation about an initiative to establish a Legal Accountants institute in the UAE – outlining the work mechanisms of issuing professional legal accountant certificates according to the best practices in the field of international accounting.
Over the years, EIBFS has managed to carve a niche for itself in the region for providing best-in-class training and education programs in the banking and finance industry and have trained around 300,000 banking professionals during the past 38 years. In 2021, the institute trained 32,317 professionals of which 36 per cent were Emirati bankers playing an important role in supporting the UAE’s Emiratization strategy to increase Emirati representation in the workforce.
In October, EIBFS unveiled its 2022 Annual Training Plan (ATP), a skills map for financial and banking professionals to deepen specialist skillsets to better serve the UAE’s growing banking ecosystem. The plan features a range of international certificates, professional certificates, Insight e-learning and learning bundles. Trainees can opt for full-fledged courses, micro-learning modules or self-paced learning options.
